Rescript, issued by Frederick II, King of Prussia, to the Court of Appeals [Present-day Germany]: “We hereby, for the benefit of your future guidance, most graciously make it known to you that nothing in the General Jew Ordinance [of 4/17/1750] shall be construed, under any circumstances, to allow the trading of wood by Jews; from now on, they shall therefore not be admitted as bidders to any auction of lumber.”
