“Rescript” issued via special order by von Blumenthal* [Present-day Germany, Poland etc.; Kingdom of Prussia]: “[…] on this side of the Weser, peddling Jews and other riff-raff shall only receive shelter/lodging in taverns (‘Krügen’)** but not on farms and other inns and [they may] not establish any depots. […]” [Researcher’s note: *Joachim Christian von Blumenthal was a minister in the Prussian Generaldirektorium which handled all matters pertaining to finance, war and all domains. **’Krügen’ was another term for taverns/inns where alcohol was dispensed.
