Rescript, issued by the Danish Chancellery to the Bishop of Funen [Present-day Denmark]: “About the procedure by which Mosaic believers may let their children become Christians, without themselves converting to this religion: It is hereby officially ordained that the baptism of the children shall comply with church ritual; however, whereas the school boards and school committees shall go ahead and make the necessary adjustments, the parents shall not be afforded any security with regard to the conversion of their offspring.”
