“Additional Taxation” order of King Adolf [Present-day Germany; Free Imperial City of Frankfurt]: “We Adolf, King of the Romans by the grace of God, […] promise to give Archbishop Gerhard von Eppenstein of Mainz, as compensation for the expenses he suffered in Our service and in that of the Reich (Empire) […] 500 Marks annually of which 200 are to come from the (regular) taxes and 300 from the Jews of Frankfurt. […].”  [Researcher’s note: These taxes were to be paid in addition to the 5000 Mark they were required to pay.]
