[Possible/Probable] “Forced Conversion of Jews” edicts issued by King James II [Kingdom of Aragon; Present-day Spain]

1) By an edict of 1278, Pope Nicholas III assigned Dominican and Franciscan friars the official duty of working to convert the Jewish community.  As part of this project, King James II of Aragon granted Ramon Llull permission to preach in Jewish synagogues on the Sabbath.
