“Writ” of King Vladislaus [Present-day Czech Republic; Kingdom of Bohemia/Hungary]: “King Vladislaus informs/complains to the under treasurer Albrech von Leskovec, that the Jews of Ceske Budejovice [Budweis] sue the other citizens [of the city] for the smallest infractions taking their cases directly to the Burgrave of Prague; instead, [King Vladislaus] orders [Albrech von Leskovec] that Jews shall [henceforth] present their case to the mayor and the aldermen first and to make this officially known.” [Researcher’s note: This writ was signed in Buda which is now part of Budapest. The above is a translation of a German summary of the original Czech text both of which can be found in the cited source.]
