Rescript, issued by the Danish Chancellery to the Magistrate at Copenhagen and the Bishop of Zealand [Present-day Denmark]: “They of the Jewish nation shall hereafter be permitted to keep Christians in their service; however, those of the female sex must be more than 50 years old, and those of the male sex 30 years, before they may be hired by the Jews, effective this coming St. Michael’s Day.”
