Ordinance of the City Council of [Bad] Wimpfen [Present-day Germany; Imperial City of Wimpfen/Holy Roman Empire]: “[…] No Jew shall appear in public (on the streets) on Sundays and on holy-days mornings (before noon) except if they are on the way to their school* or [they are to] face punishment.” [Researcher’s note: The word for school and synagogue was often used interchangeably and could refer to either or both.]
