“Ordinance” issued by the City Council of Frankfurt [Present-day Germany; Free Imperial City of Frankfurt]: “[…] in the future, no more than 3 Jewish-doctors (‘Juden-Medicos’) shall be permitted here […] and that one is to order Jewish heads of community (‘Baumeister’) not to exceed this number or to hire more of them without the permission of the noble council […] Furthermore, the consensus/counting and estimation office (‘Recheney- und Schatzungsamt’) shall see to it that no new person may be added [to the registry without proper research and permission of the authorities […]”
