“Order” of Prince Francis Xavier (‘Franz Xavier’) of Saxony [Present-day Germany; Electorate of Saxony]: “[…] Dear faithfuls. Since We have been notified that various Jews are found to be present in Leipzig outside of the [regular] fairs/markets (‘Messzeit’) without a concession. This is why we desire herewith that you should see to it that this is quickly put an end to in accordance with the measures taken to reduce their numbers in the [previously issued] mandate of August 16, 1746, §VIII. […] and the Jewish Ordinance of Leipzig of October 2, 1682 […]”
