Rescript addressed to the General Director issued by King Fredrick II of Prussia [Prussia / Present-day Germany, Poland, Czech Republic]: “’Clergymen Inspectors’ [geistliche Inspektoren] are instructed to make sure the motives of young Jews are convincing before they baptize them. In order that they should not become a burden to the Great Friedrichshospital, they are to be placed as soon as possible – even during school time – with masters.”
