“Royal Court Decree” issued by the Austrian Royal Court [Present-day Austria]: “[…] In order that the Jewry, who eagerly pick up silly things like devil exorcisms and such things, are at least not further fed in their errors by new books/writings and their education and enlightenment delayed or [worse] is made impossible altogether, the print of all books that contain such inconsistencies – whether they be written in the local or the Jewish-Hebrew language, are to be denied […].”
