“Royal Court Decree” issued by the Royal Court [Royal Court [House of Habsburg-Lorraine; Present-day Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Lichtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Ukraine]: “Via the ordinance issued on the highest order of August 5, 1727, March 27, 1736, and 1st fall-month of 1740 […] Jews have been prohibited to engage in any salt-trade […]. However, since these ordinances which were published long ago may no longer be remembered by the authorities, these are announced to the local-authorities (‘Kreisämter’) for re-publication herewith to save the authorities of any harm/loss.” [Researcher’s note: This prohibition was made public in Bohemia on April 26, 1787.]
