“Royal Court Chancellery Directive” (“Hofkanzleydeket”) [Lower Austria; Present-day Austria]: “[…] [because] Jews also often traverse through remote areas that are far from the usual communication-venues and remain on the countryside for long periods of time and engage in peddling and other trades, the governmental authorities are herewith required to issue expedient regulations to circumvent this mischief/nonsense.
