“Royal Court Decree” issued by the Royal Court [Austrian Empire; Present-day Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Slovenia, Switzerland]: “According to the constitution it is not permissible that Jews, who are merely tolerated, are granted citizenship (the rights of citizens) in the cities and special rights regarding corporations. […] The settling of foreign Jews must be […] not be permitted according to the emphatic regulations of the Royal Court from March 1, 1794. […]”
