Ordinance, issued by the Department of the Interior of Prussia [Present-day Germany]: “Repeated examples of the abuses committed by Jews with their passports, which, after usage, they pass on to other Jews, let it appear necessary, that while issuing the passports, the exact route of travel, or the annual markets they plan to visit, should be included therein; and in that manner, they shall be issued henceforth.”
