“Rescript issued by the (Prussian) Ministry of the Interior addressed to the royal government of Cologne [Present-day Germany, Poland, Lithuania; Kingdom of Prussia]: “The royal government of Cologne is advised regarding permissions for Jews to settle and to pursue trade […] that the decree from March 17, 1808, is to find application in all matters pertaining to Jews in the Rhine-provinces […] and that the royal government is determined to see this decree is applied closely and to permit the presence or settlement of Jewish-families only according to the conditions set forth in it […]”
