3. Geography of Act | Prussia |
4. Text of Act | When the Grand Duchy of Posen was seized, it was already considered how to prevent a number of Jewish families from the Duchy of Warsaw from moving to the Grand Duchy of Posen in order to take part in the privileges which were to be granted to Jews there, as in the other Prussian provinces. A register of the families living in the Duchy of Posen at the time of the seizure was therefore ordered. This ensures, when the details of granting citizenship to the Jews of the Grand Duchy of Posen are determined, that only those Jewish families who were resident there at the time of the seizure will participate, and that no foreign families will sneak in. All Jews coming to Silesia from the Grand Duchy of Posen are therefore to be treated the same as foreign Jews if they cannot prove that they have acquired Prussian citizenship there. For the time being, all immigration of such people must therefore be rejected. |
