Text of Act | The Jews, who live under our gracious prince and lord or the nobility, shall be taxed as follows: Each Jewish person, whether young or old, shall first pay one guilder for immediate aid, and the wealthy Jews shall assist the poor with this payment. In the second instance, for immediate aid, each Jew with a principal estate of one hundred guilders, regardless of the property they own, shall pay half a guilder, and thus the tax shall rise and fall, while ensuring that usury remains prohibited. For the long-term, three-year aid, each Jew with a principal estate of one hundred guilders shall pay nine albus for each year, amounting to three guilders in total from the hundred for the three years. |
