“Writ” of Emperor Ferdinand I [Present-day Czech Republic etc.]: “Emperor Ferdinand I temporarily extends the letters of protection/escort (‘Geleitbrief’)* for a number of Prague Jews and other (Jews) from April 23 to November 11, 1564.”].” [Researcher’s note: *A ‘Geleitbrief’ was a letter that allowed the holder to move freely in the territory in which it was issued.  This writ was merely a temporary extension to a previously issued expulsion order.]
