An act for raising several sums of money, and applying the same to several uses, passed by the House of Assembly of Jamaica [Jamaica]: “Resolved – That it is the opinion of the Committee that a tax be laid on the nation of the Jews. Resolved: That it is the opinion of this Committee that £1000 current money be laid on the nation of the Jews, to which the House concurred.” [Researcher’s note: This was among other items for additional taxation in consequence of the war.]
