“Ad Mandatum (‘the mandate’)” issued by King Frederick of Prussia [Present-day Germany, Lithuania, Poland, Russia etc.; Kingdom of Prussia]: “Frederick, King of Prussia […] since our experience has shown repeatedly that Jews who have converted to the Christian religion have done so not necessarily motivated by pure intentions and drive, but rather in order to achieve an end result, that is why We have deigned to command [the following]: that no Jew may be admitted to a class/lecture regarding the Christian religion until true proof/news of his irreproachable conversion has been established and credible written attestations have been submitted.
