“Ordinance” issued by the Austrian Government [Present-day Austria, Czech Republic; House of Habsburg-Lorraine]: “Since it was explicitly announced via Royal Decree of May 31, 1798, that neither according to the previous nor the new Jewish Patents, is it allowed for Jews to purchase/take ownership of residential homes in the cities […] therefore, the local regional offices (‘Kreisämter’) are [herewith] required to make the principles outlined in this royal decree public in order to prevent any possibility that Jews may attempt to take on/purchase Christian homes.”
