Decree of the Lower-Austrian government to the representatives of the Vienna Jews [Lower-Austria; Present-day Austria]: “The representatives of the Jewry are asked to put together a list of all gold and silver items (devices) found in their ‘prayer houses’ and to turn them over to the regional offices within 8 days […] and to allow these items to be invested at a rate of three percent for the state when necessary.”
