“Decree” of the Royal Imperial Chancellery (‘Hofkanzleydecret’) [Present-day Austria]: “[…] even though the Jewish heads of households are no longer required to house their employees [in their own homes] […] they are not released of their legally incumbent liability to be responsible for their servants/employees (‘Dienstleute’), especially so that their servants/employees do not engage in any trade of their own. […]”
