“Royal Commercial Commissions Decree” (‘Commerzhofcommissionsdecret’) issued by the Austrian Royal Court [Austrian Empire; Present-day Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Slovenia, Switzerland]: “The widows of the tolerated Jewish trades-people can change their toleration permits [issued for a specific occupation] for another […] in case she’s unable to continue her late husband’s line of work because of changed circumstances […] with the permission of the government […]; however, it must be changed into a permit for a line of work] for which they (Jewish widows) possess the necessary attributes/characteristics and for which they are deemed suitable. […]”
