“Official Mandate” of the Highest Court Marshal (“Obersthofmarschall”) [Present-day Austria]: “[…] the Jews Oppenheimer and Wertheimer are given permission to retain/employ (‘bey sich halten’) those Jews whom they need for their factories as per the privilege (‘Privilegiums’) granted [to them] by his most-gracious [majesty], however, they are to name/list them (their names) precisely, and in order to avoid repeated inquiry/checking, [they are] to turn in these directories to the court immediately, so that others (Jews) who often sneak in, do not use them as an excuse, but can be removed according to the existing ordinance. […]”
