“Decision” issued by the Royal Court [Present-day Austria]: “[…] On the other hand, teachers in ‘Gymnasien’* (‘Gymnasial-Lehrer’) must remind Jewish parents to ensure that their children always appear in school dressed decently and cleanly, and without any outer distinguishing signs, which could give the other boys opportunities for mockery. […] Even though all kinds of buying, selling and bartering among the youth is prohibited in schools, the teachers are instructed to pay close attention to the Jewish boys in this matter, because otherwise it could give cause for disorder and disunity between the youths of both religions. […]”
