Writ of Holy Roman Emperor, Louis IV [Present-day Germany]: “Emperor Louis transfers all rights (and jurisdiction) over Jews in Ingolstadt, his dear chamber-servants, to the judge, [city] council, and [citizens-] community of Ingolstadt […] and orders that [the aforementioned Jews] may not take more than two pennies per pound of pennies from citizens and [no more than] 3 pennies from outsiders/foreigners.” [Researcher’s note: The above is a translation of a German summary of the original text which can be found in Mederer’s Geschichte von Ingolstadt (History of Ingolstadt).]
